To ensure compliance with President Biden's September 9, 2021 executive order, Boeing is implementing a new requirement for U.S.-based employees to either show proof of being fully vaccinated from COVID-19, or have an approved reasonable accommodation (based on a disability/medical condition or sincerely held religious belief) exempting them from the requirement, by December 8, 2021 (timing may vary in some states). Individuals who are unable to meet COVID-19 requirements due to a disability/medical condition or sincerely held religious belief may apply for a reasonable accommodation during the post-offer process. Individuals with approved accommodations will be subject to frequent COVID-19 testing.
Boeing has implemented a new COVID-19 Vaccination Policy in Australia that requires all new Boeing Australia hires to show proof of being fully vaccinated from COVID-19, or have an approved medical exception by 3 December 2021. For Victorian based employees, the compliance date is 26 November 2021.
All other global Boeing locations do not have a vaccination requirement at this time.

Boeing Commercial Airplanes' Instructions for Continued Airworthiness team within Aircraft Maintenance Engineering is seeking a Systems Engineer to join our team and make an immediate impact on both urgent and long-term fleet support.

You will be able to combine the deep expertise and resources of the entire Boeing enterprise with the flexibility and fast pace of a small company setting. You will have opportunities to collaborate with people from all over the world to create and deliver innovative solutions to complex technical problems, and to learn how to maintain compliance with US and Foreign regulations regarding aircraft maintenance and flight operations documents and procedures.

This position is located in Seal Beach, California .

Position Responsibilities:
Be an integral part of supporting all Boeing Commercial Airplane models in-service and under development, including programs such as 747, 767, 777, 787, 737NG, 737 MAX, 777X, and the next generation of commercial airplanes.
Evaluate, coordinate, implement and ensure engineering design and retrofit changes meet operational and functional requirements in support of customer expectations and overall program objectives.
Research and provide technical information used to develop and maintain maintenance documentation.
Perform Cross-functional technical integration in support of resolving complex issues to help return airplanes into service.
Enact Cross-functional integration and technical project management in support of delivery and production stream sustainability.
Assist with detailed investigations to ensure system integration, compliance with requirements and to preclude safety issues.
Assist in the development and enhancement of in-house tools to enable efficient performance of engineering tasks.
Communicate routinely with Internal and External Customers
Communicate frequently with Regulators.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. - 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry required from an ABET accredited or equivalent program.
This position requires ability to work flexible schedules and shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays if needed to support our fleets.
The applicant must be able to support domestic or international travel to support our customers as required, although this is not typical.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Prior experience in a customer service role is highly recommended.
Experience with Transport, Boeing 7-Series and/or McDonnell Douglas Aircraft is preferred.
Experience with US and/or foreign aircraft certification/regulatory processes is preferred.
Commercial or military aircraft maintenance experience is preferred.
Project Management exposure / experience (e.g., Project Management Body of Knowledge [PMBOK], ANSI/PMI 99-001-2008) is preferred.
An Airframe and Power plant License is advantageous.

Typical Education and Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Shift:
This position is for 1st shift, but there is On-Call responsibilities.

All positions require a willingness to work flexible schedules and shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays if needed to support our fleets. Some travel may be required to support our customers as well as to have learning experiences to enhance your career.
