SummaryThe NFL is looking for a Director of UX, Product Design to help define and lead our fan-focused user experience across the NFL digital portfolio. The ideal candidate will be a passionate UX leader experienced in creating robust digital design systems, ideating new and novel features and functionality based on user and business needs and translating complex user flows into clearly visualized systems, maps, journeys and more. A love for collaboration, a curious mind and an enthusiastic approach to making great products are a must.This role will work closely with Product Design and Product Management across all products and platforms to establish considered user experience strategies, and partner with all facets of the NFL organization to help bring those ideas to life for the incredible NFL fan base.This is an exciting opportunity to have a major impact on all of the products within the NFL portfolio and help shape our process to continuously improve and ship them.Responsibilities

  • Lead the UX practice within the NFL, helping to define and guide new ways of working to build best in class user experiences
  • Advocate for design and user experience priorities within interdisciplinary teams in creating products that consider users, push for innovation, prioritize usability, and balance business objectives from ideation to launch through maintenance on live products
  • Provide systems-level design thinking with strong instincts and outstanding intuition informed by user needs and insights, and establish yourself as a thought leader across the organization, actively contributing to the overall product strategy and roadmap
  • Be an excellent communicator and storyteller both verbally and visually, bringing ideas to life using sketches, workshops, wireframes, journeys, prototypes, presentations and more to communicate clearly and move the needle within creative teams and with less design-fluent stakeholders
  • Represent the voice of our users, demonstrating a strong understanding of their needs and advocating for those perspectives within the product development lifecycle
  • Be a passionate believer in collaboration, often connecting the dots across disparate parts of the organization and becoming the glue between many moving pieces to help move the creative process forward
  • Partner with User Research to understand current user needs and wants, test potential design solutions with users and help translate those learnings into actionable insights and launchable products
  • Collaborate on and oversee work done by outside agencies to ensure a high standard of work
  • Establish and manage a comprehensive digital experience map across the NFL ecosystem, connecting and improving the fan journey across all touch pointsRequired Qualifications
    • 7-10 years of experience in user experience design for digital products
    • Demonstrated experience shipping successful user experiences
    • Experience developing, leading, and scaling UX practices and methodologies within an organization
    • Mastery of UX design principles and experience producing and managing multi-platform design systems, user flows, rapid prototypes, wireframes, experience maps and functional product documentation
    • Technical and business fluency - you know how to break down large challenges into incremental solutions and decisions and position various approaches
    • Comfortable driving big-picture thinking...and sweating the details
    • Experience with the agile development methodology and ability to work in a fast-paced environment, often juggling multiple priorities and successfully balancing immediate short-term needs while maintaining strategic vision for the long-term
    • Exceptional oral and written communication skills

      • 0-5%Terms / Expected Hours of Work
        • NFL full-time employees are required to work a minimum of 40 hours per week.
        • Must be able to work flexible hours, which may include holidays and/or weekends.
