Job Description Job Description Job Title: Document Control Inspector Job Description Join a rapidly expanding company as a Document Control Inspector, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and compliance of incoming materials and managing controlled documents. This position involves a combination of inspection duties and document management responsibilities. Responsibilities Receive and verify incoming materials against purchase orders, packing lists, and engineering specifications. Perform dimensional, visual, and functional inspections using calibrated tools. Review supplier documentation including Certificates of Conformance, material certifications, test reports, and calibration certificates. Identify, tag, and segregate nonconforming material and initiate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) as required. Support supplier corrective actions by providing defect data, photos, and inspection findings. Collaborate with engineering to clarify drawings, tolerances, and acceptance criteria. Manage controlled documents including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, forms, drawings, and quality records. Ensure proper revision control and maintain document history in accordance with Quality Management System (QMS) requirements. Process document change requests (DCR/ECR) and route them for review and approval. Maintain the Document Control database and ensure timely distribution of updated documents to affected departments. Archive and retain records according to regulatory and company retention policies. Essential Skills Experience in inspection of parts and document control. Knowledge of ISO standards and QMS. Proficient in using inspection tools such as calipers and gauges. Experience with ERP/QMS systems for inspection and document management. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications. Additional Skills & Qualifications High school diploma required; AS or technical certificate preferred. 2–4 years of experience in incoming inspection, document control, or quality assurance in a manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of revision control, change management, and quality documentation. Excellent attention to detail, organization, and communication skills. Process-driven with strong ownership of accuracy and compliance. Collaborative communicator who works well with engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers. Proactive problem solver who escalates issues appropriately and supports continuous improvement. Work Environment Work in a small team environment alongside one Senior Technician and two Engineers, with plans to expand by 3-4 more employees by early 2026. The team focuses on quality, compliance, and continuous improvement in a dynamic and fast-paced setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Carlsbad, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
